Considered to be one of the most promising Romanian singers of her generation, Rodica Vica’s virtuoso voice is highly acclaimed both in her native country and abroad. With a versatility that spans the bravura baroque style to bel canto and contemporary music, Rodica has established herself as a dynamic force in the opera and concert world.

Her operatic engagements have showcased her talent across a range of roles, including the commanding Donna Anna in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni,” where she made her debut under the musical direction of Keri-Lynn Wilson. She has also captivated audiences as Norina in Donizetti’s “Don Pasquale,” Alcina in Händel’s “Alcina,” and Zima and Fatime in Rameau’s “Les Indes Galantes,” in the renowned Parisian production by Andrei Serban. Rodica’s repertoire further includes iconic roles such as Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” and Rosina in Rossini’s “Il Barbiere di Siviglia.”

In concert settings, Rodica has delivered captivating performances, including the world premiere of Enescu’s oratorio “The Ghosts” with the Rundfunk Sinfonieorchester Berlin at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Recent highlights in Rodica’s career include her debut as Violetta in Verdi’s “La Traviata”, performances at the George Enescu Festival and participation in international tours such as “Barocco Furioso” and “Carmen Sylva – 180 International Tour.” Her discography boasts two notable recordings, including the world premiere recording of Enescu’s “Strigoii” (The Ghosts) with RSB conducted by Gabriel Bebeșelea, and “Stars in the Sky,” a multicultural project featuring lullabies from around the world, released at the Musikverein Vienna in collaboration with renowned zither player Barbara Laister-Ebner, soloist at the New Year’s Vienna Concert in 2018.
